सूख गए 300 बांज के पेड़, वन विभाग बेखबर

उत्तरकाशी:  जहां एक ओर वन विभाग वन संरक्षण और पर्यावरण संरक्षण के नाम पर करोड़ों की योजनाओं को संचालित कर रहा है, वहीं दूसरी ओर उत्तरकाशी के अपर यमुना वन प्रभाग के मुंगरसन्ति रेंज के करीब 2,500 मीटर की ऊंचाई पर बसे जंगल में सैकड़ों कीमती और पर्यावरण की दृष्टिकोण से महत्वपूर्ण बांज के पेड़ सूख गए हैं।

लेकिन वन विभाग ने अभी तक इसके कारण जानने की कोशिश नहीं की। वन विभाग के अधिकारी यह कहकर पल्ला झाड़ रहे हैं कि यह पेड़ आज से 7 वर्ष पूर्व वनाग्नि के कारण सूखे थे।कुछ दिन पूर्व अपर यमुना वन प्रभाग के मुंगरसन्ति रेंज के मोरसाल और रूपेनल नामे तोक में पहुंचे युवकों ने बताया कि तोक में करीब 300 से अधिक बांज के पेड़ पूरी तरह सूख गए हैं।

वहीं स्थानीय लोगों का कहना है कि विगत पांच सालों से पेड़ों के सूखने का सिलसिला जारी है। लेकिन वन विभाग के अधिकारियों ने आज तक सुध नहीं ली। स्थानीय लोगों का कहना है कि बांज पहाड़ के जंगलों की कीमती और पर्यावरण के दृष्टिकोण से सबसे महत्वपूर्ण पेड़ है। लेकिन उसके बाद भी वन विभाग ने सूखते पेड़ों की अभी तक सुध नहीं ली है।

जिससे कि आसपास अन्य पेड़ों को भी खतरा हो सकता है। मुंगरसन्ति रेंज के रेंज अधिकारी कन्हैया बेलवाल का कहना है कि वर्ष 2013-14 में वनाग्नि के कारण वहां पेड़ों को नुकसान हुआ था। वहीं उसके बाद वन निगम को नुकसान हुए पेड़ों को काटने का जिम्मा दिया गया था।
